Strada Institute keeps the admissions process straightforward. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. During the admissions meeting, we’ll discuss goals, career interests, and schedule options to help determine program fit. To become a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Georgia, follow these steps:

1. Graduate from a state-approved massage therapy school with at least 500 clock hours of education, which must include coursework in anatomy, physiology, pathology, business, and hands-on practice.​
2. Pass the MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination) administered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB).
3. Submit a license application through the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy, which includes:
   • Official transcripts from your school
   • Proof of having passed the MBLEx
   • A criminal background check
   • Applicable fees and identification documents
4. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive authorization to practice as an LMT in Georgia.

Ongoing continuing education (typically 24 hours biennially) is required for license renewal.​

We also recognize that massage therapy is more than technique, it’s communication with the nervous system. Students explore how the body’s stress responses influence soft tissue dysfunction. Every lesson reinforces the importance of trauma-informed care, professional ethics, and emotional boundaries.

Research and lifelong learning are key threads in our program. Students complete a guided massage therapy research project they may choose to submit for the Massage Therapy Foundation Case Report Contest.
